Mac McAnally, has been named Country Music Association Musician of the Year for eight years in a row. In 20, the internationally- recognized musician has given a concert at Bettersworth Auditorium at Mississippi State to benefit MSU’s Department of Music. In 2010, he was the winner of one of four Mississippi Governor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts. McAnally was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and named Country Music Association’s Musician of the Year in recent years.
